PARVEEN & YILIAS KAHN

Franco-Indian brother and sister, Parveen & Ilyas Khan embody the musical heritage of Rajasthan. Brought up in Jaipur, they were taught the rigours of Indian classical music. Parveen explores a range of styles, from improvisation to rarities such as the Maands, popular songs of the desert. On the tablas, Ilyas accompanies her with virtuosity and mixes it with beatbox, creating an original dialogue between tradition and modernity. Their dual cultures form a vibrant bridge between East and West.
